Laura King grew up in and around the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Her love and passion for art began at a young age while on a family vacation in New York City. After viewing the inspirational paintings and works of well-known artists, a passion for such beauty settled deep within her heart.
Laura has spent the last 10 years raising a family and furthering her education. She is married and has two children. After discovering that her daughter has serious medical issues in February 2015, she began expressing herself through painting.
All of King’s work is abstract and is what she considers to be “intuitive painting” and a way to express herself. Every piece of her work has a hidden meaning and has been a way of emotional release during some of the most difficult times of her life. She enjoys sharing her art with others and believes that art is not about the image itself, but what an individual can make it to be.
Laura currently lives in Bristol, Virginia and spends most of her days with her husband and two children. She stresses to others that her family are not only her support system, but also her greatest inspiration.
